HIM 264 - Healthcare Reimbursement Methodologies

1 credit
The uses of coded data and health information in reimbursement and payment systems. Reimbursement management and optimization issues will be investigated for both hospital and non-hospital entities including the use of computer-assisted coding, effective management of coding services and automated grouping systems, chargemasters and the appropriate application of HCPCS service codes. Prerequisite(s): HIM 180 , HIM 240 ,  .  Concurrent enrollment in HIM 262  is permitted.
