CSC 385 - Networking II3 credits This course takes an in-depth look at TCP/IP’s layered architecture and the role its various protocols play in network communication. Protocol analyzers are used to examine the operation and message sequences for all key data-link, network, and transport layer protocols. Fundamental networking issues such as connection establishment/teardown and handshaking, congestion and flow control, and multiplexing are addressed. The course also includes a significant IPv6 component: IPv6 addressing, automatic addressing facilities, IPv6 header architecture, MTU and packet handling, IPv6 routing, ICMPv6, and NDP in IPv6.
