INFA 702 - Introduction to Data Privacy3 credits Foundational course in the field of data privacy that will introduce students to privacy related disciplines. Examination of principles that will include information identification, classification, anonymity, and additional areas related to data governance, risk, and compliance. Frameworks and principles of privacy by design will be emphasized with other industry frameworks. Students will analyze incidents related to data privacy case studies or current events to gain a broader understanding of the possible issues related to data privacy. Examination of data privacy legislation from state to global regulations. Learning to apply effective oversight across the organization through practical methods that address both administrative and technological requirements.
