Education Minors/Endorsement Programs
Students pursuing this endorsement should be enrolled in one of DSU’s education degree programs (B.S.) leading to teaching licensure or hold a primary teaching license. An endorsement is essentially specialized qualifications that a teacher can add to their teaching license, demonstrating expertise and authorizing them to teach in a particular subject, grade level, or educational setting. Graduates who complete the endorsement program must pass the applicable content Praxis exam if they wish to be certified to teach in South Dakota. Graduates who earn an endorsement in an area that does not require a content-specific test may be granted the endorsement based upon the successful completion of required coursework (e.g., kindergarten, coaching, K-12 educational technology endorsement). All coursework leading to education endorsement programs must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher. For further information, contact the Certification Officer in the College of Education and Human Performance. Art Minor/K-12 Endorsement Program (21 credits)
