Mission
At The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences, our mission is to educate and empower students to become lifelong learners and accomplished professionals in the dynamic fields of computer and cyber sciences. We are committed to fostering intellectual curiosity, logical reasoning, ethical action, and informed decision-making across our academic programs.
We challenge our students to build technical and analytical skills through six distinct majors: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Game Design, Computer Science, Cyber Defense, Cyber Operations, and Network and Security Administration.
We offer a variety of academic programs, from certificates to doctorates. At the undergraduate level, students can start with Associate of Science degrees in Network and Security Administration and Software Development. These associate degrees are intentionally designed to articulate smoothly into related four-year bachelor’s programs, providing students with a strong start to their academic and professional journey. The College grants Bachelor of Science degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Game Design, Computer Science, Cyber Operations, and Network and Security Administration. These programs are structured to cultivate foundational and specialized skills while encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and hands-on learning. DSU also offers a Fast Track Program for eligible students, enabling them to begin graduate-level work while still completing their undergraduate degrees; interested students should consult their academic advisor for more information.
Building on this foundation, students may pursue advanced study through our master’s degree offerings, which include the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and Cyber Defense. These graduate programs emphasize research, technical depth, and practical application, preparing students for advanced roles in both the public and private sectors.
For those seeking the highest level of academic achievement, The Beacom College offers Ph.D. programs in Computer Science, Cyber Defense, and Cyber Operations. These doctoral programs are designed for individuals who aspire to contribute original research and thought leadership to their fields, whether in academia, government, or industry.
In addition to our formal degree and certificate offerings, the College provides opportunities for students to gain real-world experience through internships, supervised professional practice, and consulting engagements. These experiences complement academic coursework by allowing students to apply their knowledge in practical settings, enhance their professional readiness, and build meaningful government and industry connections.
Through a combination of rigorous academics, applied learning, and personal mentorship, The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences prepares students to excel in a world where digital innovation and cybersecurity are critical to progress and security.
