Faculty Awards

The Office of the Provost coordinates four awards for DSU faculty to acknowledge their excellent contributions to for research and teaching activities at the University. These awards are awarded once a year in the spring semester. For more information see DSU Faculty Awards.

Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)

Dakota State University’s Center for Teaching and Learning offers opportunities for the academic community to strengthen teaching and assessment strategies and technology-enhanced learning. Instructional design and instructional technology consultants are available for individual, group, or departmental consultations. See DSU’s CTL webpage.

Testing Services

DSU Testing Center is located in the Learning Engagement Center. It provides students and the community with comprehensive testing and assessment services. Those service include placement, CLEP, ACT, PRAXIS, and proctoring. See DSU’s testing services webpage.

Library

The library provides a range of resources and services for faculty. Physical items and electronic resources support the research and curricular needs of the institution. Professional librarians can assist faculty by offering instruction in courses as well as through research workshops. Librarians are also available for individualized assistance with research questions. Questions can be addressed to the library. The library provides a course reserve service for faculty where physical items can be reserved for students in specific courses. The check-out period for these items is restricted based on the needs of the faculty member. See the Course Reserve Request Form. 

Production Center

The Production Center offers printing services to students, employees, non-profits, and governmental entities. It is located in the Marketing and Communications Office. Services include printing, design, and mail. See DSU’s Production Center webpage.

Campus Bookstore

The Trojan Zone Bookstore sells licensed apparel and gifts, school, office and arts supplies, as well as computer and electronic supplies and gaming products. Course materials have gone virtual and are purchased via affiliate vendors. See the Trojan Zone DSU Website

International Student Services

DSU’s International Student Services provides support for students from over 52 countries, with affiliation agreements with Knowledge Exchange Institute (KEI) Abroad and Megellan Exchange. DSU faculty have also lead short-term programs abroad for credit. See DSU’s International Student Services website.

Inclusion

DSU’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee focuses on coordinating campus activities based on important EDI concepts and perspectives. These activities are designed to engage all students and bring those with varied backgrounds together.

Ombudsperson

The ombudsperson serves as a resource between faculty and administration on issues related to DSU or SDBOR related policies and procedures. The ombudsperson provides confidential, impartial, and informal assistance to individuals and groups who are experiencing conflicts, issues, concerns, or who have complaints. A faculty member is selected to serve as the ombudsperson on campus. Research and Economic Development (RED)

DSU’s Research and Economic Development Office supports faculty research involving their own research interests or in undergraduate research opportunities. The office supports the Madison Cyber Labs, which are a hub for research, development and economic opportunities. The graduate student-research exchange program is an opportunity for faculty and students to work with international exchange students. The Paulson Cyber Incubator and Entrepreneurial Center is an educational, applied learning laboratory for DSU students pursuing entrepreneurship through the creation of new business and organization.
