Faculty with Administrative Roles

Responsibilities of Program Coordinators

Program Coordinators perform academic-program coordination to supplement student retention, strategic planning, and program development. The coordinators are responsible for assisting the dean and faculty in operating processes and procedures to maintain academic standards and service to students. They ensure open lines of communication to resolve student issues. Since the coordinators handle sensitive information, they need tact, discretion, and judgment, and must exhibit a high level of professionalism.

Program coordinators serve at the discretion of the dean and approval by the provost, with three-year renewable terms. The coordinator position may result in reallocation of time from one course per semester for administrative responsibilities. The position carries a stipend.

Responsibilities of the College Dean

College deans are typically appointed through an external search and reporting to the provost, serving at the discretion of the administration. Deans may or may not carry a tenure line appointment.
