University’s Quality Initiatives and Priorities

Quality Initiatives

Dakota State University is in the “Open Pathway,” one of the options that institutions have for maintaining their accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission that allows some initiatives for improvements for quality in the school’s education. Specifics about the Open Pathway may be found (as of 1/27/23) on the website of the Higher Learning Commission

Academic Institutional Priorities

The salary schedule defined by the Board of Regents allots 5 to 20 percent of available monies to institutional priorities. Institutional priorities may change from year to year but are rooted in the university strategic plan.

For Academic Years 23-24 through 26-27 DSU will allocate monies for faculty efforts aimed at three institutional priorities that impact salary adjustments. The institutional priorities identified include student success (ie retention, graduation rates), enrollment, and research productivity.  If you believe you are eligible for salary consideration due to notable contributions toward the institutional priorities, describe those contributions in filling out your annual evaluation form.
